How to organize ideas

Once a detailed outline has been created and the writing begins, one encounters specific questions that pop up relating to the fantasy world, environments, flora, fauna, clothes, architecture, weapons and many other details. How does one organize, research and answer these questions?

I used Trello, an easy to use project and task management tool to accomplish the goals of answering questions such as the above.

Trello uses a visual paradigm with lists and cards that I was able to use quite effectively. As I wrote a scene, a question that arose related to the detail of the scene was recorded as a question in a card in Trello. After I'd completed the scene, I'd go back and answer the question through extensive research.

For example, in the jungle called the Simha Aranya that Raa One walks into, I had a question about the types of trees that might populate an equatorial jungle in a south asian- type of environment. I came up with Shaala, Dipterocarp and Mango trees via research of the flora of the Simharaja jungle in Sri Lanka!

I was able to go back and look up the Trello board and answer about the flora of the Aranya jungle at later points in the narrative.

Thank you, Trello, for saving me time and energy more than once!
